Cold turkey

So some time has passed... I realize now if Fi is ever going to have any kind of baby book, it is going to have to be digital. I cannot remember the last time I actually grabbed the notebook that started out as her actual baby book though literally every day I think, "I really should write that down." So here is my attempt to start a blog, cold turkey-- hmmm, not sure you can start something cold-turkey. But there it is. I am not too far ahead of my grandmother's late brother Abe, who asked at the dinner table several years ago, "What is a blog?" because he kept hearing people talk about it. The best part is that he pronounced the word "blog" like he was asking about something very disgusting.

So today, Fi is three and almost five months old. She is super tall. Tomorrow I am going to make another hash mark on her door frame because I swear she just grew six inches in the last few weeks. She is starting to morph into a very silly, sensitive, perceptive kid who is really into 1) birds, 2) wrestling, 3) things that are slimy, and 4) Dino Train. She can spot a woodpecker on a tree across the street in the rain. Today I caught her actually kissing one of our pet chickens on the beak. She is obsessively asking me what letters things start with and is really trying hard to understand why "s" and "c" sound the same some of the time.  She loves foot massages, nudity, and any animal that crosses her path-- slimy, thorny, insufferably smelly, or silky.

So the experiment begins. We will see when I post in this next again-- hopefully it won't be another three years.

  1. I found something for the lover of slimy creatures in MA...let's just say someone in Salem just got rid of a disturbingly large collection of snail figurines.
